AVOCADO

You probably know that the avocado is widely regarded as a great Clinique Mediluxe benefit for beautiful and healthy skin.  While you could wear it as a mask, consuming the creamy green fruit (and yes, it is a fruit, not a vegetable) provides you with lots of vitamin E and several of vitamins in the B-complex.  The B-complex is great for metabolism and energy but vitamin E directly benefits the skin. However, avocado is also rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin C.

SALMON

Speaking of fatty acids, Salmon is a lean protein that is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. These compounds moisturize the skin and strengthen other soft tissue.  Salmon also contains another nutrient that helps reduce wrinkles; something called astaxanthin.  Astaxanthin is a carotenoid and it is responsible for salmon’s pink coloring. More importantly, though, this is an extremely powerful antioxidant that can scavenge for and gather free radicals created when the skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays.  

BLUEBERRIES

The humble blueberry is actually one of the best superfoods on the planet—and it is also one of the most accessible.  Blueberries are high in vitamin E but also in anthocyanins. This is a group of compounds that improve the integrity of the collagen matrix through the neutralizing of enzymes that would normally destroy connective tissue.  Anthocyanins also scavenge for free radicals and will enhance the effect that Vitamin C has on the body.

EGGS

Salmon may be rich in fatty acids but as far as proteins are concerned, there may be none better for reducing the risk of wrinkles than the lowly egg. Eggs are a great source of three widely celebrated anti-wrinkle amino acids: glycine, lycine, and proline.  These three amino acids, in particular, are major contributors to the production of both collagen and elastin. Of course, eggs are also rich in vitamins A and E as well as the minerals iron and selenium.
